  • MOLA is happy to announce our  Legislative Liaison, former State Representative and Township Supervisor. Ruth Ann Jamnick.

Ruth Ann's primary mission is to be our contact with State Representatives, Senators and other government entities when they desire information about manufactured homeowners concerns in Michigan and to bring issues to their attention that residents in manufactured housing would like to share with them.

Here is a little background about Ruth Ann.

Because of her valuable experience at the local level, Ruth Ann was called to share her expertise in the Michigan Legislature as 54th District State Representative. Some of her accomplishments were being the Democratic Vice-Chair of local Government & Urban Affairs Committee and serving on the Transportation Committee. She was appointed co-chair of a bi-partisan work group to create a package of bills to reform manufactured home park statues.

Ruth Ann also served as the Chair of the House Democratic Women’s Leadership Caucus, is a member of Women in Government and was recommended by then-Speaker of the House Johnson, to be appointed to the National Council of State Legislators’ Redistricting & Election Committee. Ruth Ann has served as the Ypsilanti Township Treasurer and the Supervisor.

Ruth Ann introduced Bills 4868, Manufactured Housing Residency Bill, and 4869, Manufactured Housing Residents right to form a homeowners association. Both bills passed the House of Representatives, but not the Senate. These Bills were part of a package of bills that were tie-barred to a tax-related bill. Due to the Senate's inaction, all of the bills in the package failed, unfortunately including 4868 and 4869. She is currently serving on the Manufactured HousingCommission's,

Manufactured Housing Ordinance Review Committee, and the State Boundary Commission.

Ruth Ann is a mother of three children and has five grandchildren.

We feel we are very fortunate to have Ruth Ann as our MOLA Legislative Liaison. She is very knowledgeable about many of the issues facing the residents in manufactured housing across the State of Michigan. She is dedicated to the health safety and welfare of all manufactured housing residents in Michigan. Please feel free to contact Ruth Ann if you have any questions or information concerning manufactured housing.
